Solo Show – Recorded Gallery Tour
If you missed Seth Harris’ solo show “Lindy Hop”, don’t worry. There is a recorded gallery tour detailing each piece that was on display this past fall. The starts with a brief history of Lindy Hop as a dance, then moves on to explain the inspiration and anecdotes of each of the 24 drawings and paintings that were on shown at the Corkran Gallery by the Rehoboth Art League.
Out My Window Exhibition
In the face of COVID, the Salmagundi Club challenged it’s membership to provide artwork for an online only exhibition.
“Opened or closed, a window is a transparent barrier that places the viewer apart from what is viewed. What’s seen is filtered by the viewer’s mindset into perceived reality. Every artist has his/her own particular way of seeing real or metaphoric. The artist’s own image may be reflected back to him too, somehow detached from its environment, inviting a more spiritual and less physical translation. The artist’s interpretation of the image may be influenced by current circumstances, beautiful memories, or simply a vision of feeling made visible. What do you see Out Your Window?”
Interview: Madetomove.co
In addition to drawing and painting, I also co-organize for a swing dance performance group called the NY Sea Findyhoppers. Out of 750 groups out team won third place in the marching category in the 2019 Coney Island Mermaid Parade.
I was recently interviewed by Mary McGinn of madetomove.co regarding how our group is adapting to the pandemic and what our plans for the future are. You can read the full article here.
Oil Paintings
“I decided a few months ago to step back from watercolors and work solely in oil for the time being. Oil paint is a medium that I had not touched since before high school but always wanted to master. In the meantime, I won’t be showing at any galleries or art shows. I also want to say that I appreciate the feedback that I’ve been getting on fb and instagram for the paintings that I have posted.”

Art Show – Gowanus
April 19 from 1-5PM, Mermaid prints, originals, totes, onesies, and pillows will be available at the Goldmine Art Fair at the Gemni & Scorpio Loft in Gowanus. The actual street address is a (not so) closely guarded secret. So for directions, message me on Instagram, Facebook, or just email me at info@BrooklynSeth.com.
I have created several original works of art just for the show so be sure to check it out.
The A Train to Far Rockaway
“The A Train to Far Rockaway” is the latest subway painting in “The Mermaids of North America” series. This painting includes the first ever depiction of a mercat, which is a cat-fish, not at all related to a catfish.
Also, thank you to all the Tumblr users who have re-blogged and liked this painting! I appreciate the love.
